The short version
Shiftaway keeps your schedule, errands and habits on your phone. You don’t need an account. Nothing leaves your phone unless you share your schedule by link.
What stays on your phone
Your rotation, shift hours, schedule changes, sleep times, errands, habits and the people you add are stored only on your phone. Your phone’s own backup (iCloud or Google, to your own account) may include them, so a new phone gets them back.
Sharing your schedule
If you tap “Share my schedule”, Shiftaway creates an anonymous account for you on our server (Supabase, hosted in Canada) and uploads which of the next 120 days you’re working and which you’re off. If you turn on “Show my shift hours”, your shift start and end times go up too. Time off is sent as an ordinary day off. Your name, errands, habits and notes are never uploaded.
Anyone with your link can see those days. The link is a long random code that can’t be guessed. “New link” replaces it, and the old link stops working. “Stop sharing” deletes the shared days and the anonymous account from the server straight away.
If you stop opening the app, a link that hasn’t been updated for 180 days is deleted automatically.
Adding someone by their link
When you add someone by their link, the app asks our server for their working and off days and stores them on your phone. It never opens the link’s address itself.
What our providers see
When the app or a share page connects, Supabase (hosted in Canada) and Cloudflare (which serves this website worldwide) see your IP address and keep short-lived technical logs. For a shared schedule, Supabase also records the device type and IP address of the anonymous account. We use these only to run and protect the service.
What we don’t do
- No ads, no tracking and no selling of data.
- No analytics on this website, and no cookies.
Your choices
To delete everything, stop sharing (if you shared) and then delete the app. See Delete your data.
